My work was done using photoshop CS4, no tablet. I'm a big fan of The Hunger Games. And I've read all three books. The book "Mockingjay" is what i like best. And I tried to make a adptação in my art. "Take a deep breath. My arms rise slightly - as if recalling the black-and-white wings Cinna gave me that - and then home again. - I'll be the Mockingjay. " Resources by :, my own and painted
This is obviously not your traditional fanart of The Hunger Games. This picture really brings out the complexity and the intelligence of the series, something most people don't realise it has because of its target audience. The artwork itself is brilliant and eye-catching. I would have preferred a little more detail in the darker areas, but that's just a personal thing. I love how the eye is immediately drawn to the fire at the back, and consequently, the Mockingjay pin. The setting's a little too futuristic and sci-fi for my liking, but again, that's a personal preference. I always imagined the scenery as relatively rustic, even in the Capitol. It's hard to tell which scene is being depicted here, but the overall idea is definitely clear. The expression on Katniss' face clearly shows that she has become a fully-realised figurehead and fighter for the rebels, and not just someone looking after the needs of her immediate companions. Overall, this is a brilliant job, and it's going in my favourites. Well done!
